In 2000, the city of Eunice received funding for the environmental rehabilitation of the Eunice City Lake in order to create a recreational area for the citizens of the city. Guidelines from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries were to construct a deck and pier, restroom facilities, picnic pavilions, a nature walk, a welcome center, and an asphalt road with parking. Within these guidelines, Hoffpauir Studio planned for this new recreation space, assessing its feasibility for the city of Eunice.
